“TALLINN OPEN”
September 13th-14th, 2003
Tallinn, Estonia
Take a break from the usual and come experience Estonia! We invite you to join us once again for an awesome tournament of disc-golf in the capital city of Tallinn! In only our second season of tournament play, the EDGA is proud to present a truly international event with invitations going out all over Europe. With the help of the Finnish Professional Tour, we have had great success in organizing exciting and competitive tournaments in the past that players have truly seemed to enjoy. We would like to thank all the great players who have supported our efforts over the last year, and wish to extend our thanks to those who are interested in coming to Tallinn for the 2003-2004 season. Our good friends at Saku Brewery have once again agreed to provide cold beer and water for all tournament participants (beer after playing of course ) and we are thankful to have such an important partner and sponsor for the 2003 season.
The tournament will be played on nine holes through the beautiful gardens of Kadriorg Castle, an ideal and historic backdrop for disc-golf, located just outside the city-center of Tallinn and five minutes walk from great accommodations. Quickly becoming a favorite course for disc-golfers in this region, Kadriorg Park in Tallinn provides an ideal setting for the sport of disc-golf, with spectacular views of Tallinn harbor and the beautiful Kadriorg Castle built by Katherine the Great of Russia. Estonia is a country rich in culture and history, filled with open fields and untouched natural forests that can be utilized for the sport of disc-golf. Our goal is to provide a chance for players from all over the Baltic Region to experience the beauty and comfort of playing and being here. All accommodations, including breakfast and lunches, are arranged once you have registered, and the hotel is five minutes walk from the playing grounds.
The tournament will span over two days, and will consist of five rounds of nine, with a semi-final and final for the top scores. Moderate cash prizes will be given to the top five players from the Men’s Open division and winners of the Amateur division will receive certificates and other fun disc-golf stuff. Come join us for some excellent play, good laughs, and great Estonian beer, and see how the 2003 “Tallinn Open” is won! This tournament will be played in cooperation with the Finnish Professional Disc-Golf Tour, Saku Brewery, Oru Hotel and the EDGA. (Estonian Disc-Golf Association)

City of Tallinn information:
The downtown area of Tallinn is a beautiful and historic center for culture and dining, with an interesting and innovative atmosphere. Travel is easy, as ferries arrive in the center of town only 2 kilometers from the tournament area. A taxi ride from downtown to anywhere in the city or surrounding area will cost around 3-4 Euros. Public transportation is extremely easy use, and costs less than 1 Euro. Food and beverage expenses are about half the cost of Finland and other Scandinavian countries. The Old Town of Tallinn is a beautiful and preserved Hanseatic town, only 5 minutes away from the tournament area, with cobblestone streets and ancient Danish walls. The streets of old town are lined with handicraft markets and interesting pubs.
